Neighbourhood Watch

The Neighbourhood Watch scheme was set up by the Police as a means of informing residents on how to safeguard their property and to encourage neighbours to watch out for neighbours.  Coordinators were appointed and now there is a Ringmaster service whereby coordinators receive telephone messages from the Police on incidents that have occurred.  The coordinators then pass these messages on.

Our local coordinator is Phyllis Walton, Great Hucklow (01298 871261).  As part of the Village Plan, telephone trees for circulating messages are planned for each community, and have already been established in Little Hucklow and Windmill.  To get on the telephone tree, if interested, just inform Phyllis of your willingness to join, and then when a message is received, this will be passed on to you.

For emergencies, phone 999.  For urgent matters that are not emergencies, telephone the Police on 0845 123 3333.
