Silence Heritage Site

Silence Heritage Site is the name given to a 4 hectare area on a south facing slope on Hucklow Edge. It was the previous location for lead working at both Silence and Old Grove Mine and more recent re-working of the surface mineral heaps for fluorspar. It is of outstanding interest for its archaeology and wildlife.

Peak District National Park Authority and the parishes of Foolow and Great Hucklow are collaborating to develop and implement a management plan to ensure the future of the site..

Further information can be found on the Silence Heritage Site website.
